ØKSNA
Just east of the farm lies a landscape unlike anything else on Hedmarken. Three kilometres of narrow gorge, tumbling waterfalls, and deep stone pools shaped at the end of the last Ice Age.
The river Øksna has worked here for ten thousand years, polishing giant’s kettles into perfect circles, carving sheer walls of sparagmite, and creating a wild, echoing corridor where water and stone argue endlessly.
Two waterfalls mark the trail: the upper fall, dropping straight between vertical cliffs, and the lower, where three smaller cascades gather in a dark, dramatic V-shaped valley.
During the summer, the pools glow deep green. In the autumn, the gorge fills with the sound of wind pressing through spruce. And all year, the place holds a certain mythic quiet: The feeling of stepping into a story older than the farms, older than the forest.
